Description
The Gronant Inn is a two-storey, double-fronted public house built from snecked stone, featuring quoins with vermiculated rustication. The building has a slate roof with coped gables supported by moulded kneelers and stone end stacks, which are reduced on the right side. The openings are topped with wedge lintels. In the center, there is a fielded panel door flanked by small-pane sash windows on both storeys.
To the left, there is a two-storey former house that has been incorporated into the public house. This house has rendered walls painted white and a slate roof with stacks located at the center and left. It features a panelled door leading to a central gabled porch and 4-pane sash windows under stone lintels, except for the lower right window, which consists of a pair of 4-pane sashes.
On the right gable end of the original public house, there is a single-storey projection. The rear of the building, where the ground level is lower, includes sash windows on the left side, a central stair light, and external steps leading to a doorway beneath a flat-roofed canopy. This doorway connects to a short link to a formerly detached bakehouse. There is also a fire escape stair located at the upper right. The attached former house features 4-pane sash windows similar to those at the front and has a replaced door to the right of center, which is accessed by external steps.
