Description
The well head at Soughton Hall is a circular structure designed in a classical style, made of pale freestone. It features eight scrolled brackets that support a projecting octagonal cap or lip, which has beading along its edge. Between the brackets, there are urns in low relief that bear flowers or support lions or birds. The bottom edge of the well head also has beading. It stands on an octagonal grey stone plinth, which is topped with a similarly moulded capstone.
