Description
The cow house at Pen-y-Graig Farm is a lofted structure built from locally quarried limestone rubble and topped with a slate roof. It features openings with timber lintels. On the eastern side facing the yard, there are three full-height doors, with metal-framed windows fitted into the original openings between them. The southern gable end has a stub wall from a section that was removed, and it includes a metal-framed window in an original opening. The northern gable end has a similar loft window set in a brick surround.
At the rear, there is a parallel range constructed of brick with concrete dressings, covered by a roof made of corrugated asbestos-cement sheets. The western wall contains three full-height doorways with split boarded doors, while the southern gable end features a boarded door, and both gable ends have loft windows. Inside the original range, there is a single truss with a sawn tie beam and raking struts.
