Description
Nos 52-54 Tower Hill is a terrace of originally three two-storey cottages built in the castellated Gothick style. Constructed of limestone, the cottages feature mono-pitch slate roofs behind a crenellated parapet. The facade is nearly symmetrical, with a recessed central section and outer chimney turrets on the advanced wings. The entrance that served the former central cottage is located on the left side of the recessed bay and is now walled up. To the right of this entrance is a pointed-arched window with rough-dressed voussoirs and plain glazing featuring an intersecting head. The advanced bay on the left has a pointed-arched entrance for number 52, which includes a 20th-century wooden door, along with a similar window to the left. The entrance to number 54 is found in the left return of the right-hand wing, with a door similar to that of number 52. There is an additional arched window at the front of this wing, and each bay has a similar window at the first-floor level. The rear of the property has modern extensions, including a storeyed, rubble-faced, flat-roofed addition to the central bay. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
