Description
The Britannia Public House is a two-storey inn built in a neo-vernacular style. It features roughcast rubble construction and a slate roof. The near-central entrance has a recessed 19th-century panelled door. To the left of the entrance is a window with a projecting stone sill and a modern uPVC window, while there are two similar windows to the right. The first floor has three bays defined by gables, which have deep verges and decorative pierced bargeboards with pendant finials. The central and right-hand bays contain unhorned 19th-century sashes with marginal glazing. The left bay features a projecting wooden oriel designed as a Victorian canted bay, also with sashes that have marginal glazing and a tiled roof. Above the central first-floor window is an inn sign framed in a segmentally-arched, moulded design, with a modern hanging sign to the right. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
