Description

Reynard’s is a late 18th-century, three-story building with a roughcast front, originally two windows wide. Applied decorative detail includes a plinth, rusticated quoins, and a cill band on the section corresponding to number 9. The roof is later, and the building has red brick chimney stacks. Number 7 has sash windows and number 9 has small-pane pivot windows. The windows at number 7 have simple architraves, keystones, and bracketed cills. Number 7 has two shop fronts featuring three-light windows on either side of a central entrance; an overall cornice is present, along with modern canopies and a shop sign with an iron bracket. Number 9 has a smaller shop front with pilasters, a dentil cornice, and a three-light window flanked by half-glazed and modern doors, alongside a four-pane sash window to the right. The rear of the building is of rubble construction with deep lean-to extensions.
