Description

11 Castle Street is a tall, narrow, two-and-a-half-storey house, likely dating to the 18th century. The house has a roughcast exterior beneath a steeply-pitched slate roof, with a central chimney stack rendered over brick. An open-fronted, flat-roofed porch with trellised sides and a canopy, probably dating to the early 19th century, is positioned to the left of the centre of the facade. The front door is likely original from the 18th century and features fielded panels. The windows are 20th-century wooden casements with quarry glazing above, set within continuous sill bands. The ground and first-floor windows have raised eared surrounds with segmental heads and keystones. The second-floor windows are located within gabled half-dormers, featuring timber struts to the gables. A cellar opening is visible on the right-hand side. The south gable end includes a small 2-light attic window, adjacent to the adjoining property at No. 13. The rear of the property, partially visible, displays small-pane windows to the upper storey, a corner stack to the left, and flat-roofed blocks below. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
