Description

The War Memorial Gates are made of cast iron and feature paired main gates flanked by hollow piers, with flat piers on either side of the footgates. Quadrant railings are present on both sides. The gates and piers are decorated with scroll-work and topped with ornate scrolled finials. Both the main gates and footgates have elaborate lock bars and scrolled arched heads. The quadrant railings are strengthened by simplified scroll-work panels. Memorial panels are attached to the main piers, with additional panels added later to the gates themselves.
