Description
Ty-Isa is a single storey and attic building, likely dating from the late 17th century, constructed from whitewashed rubble. It was later divided into two cottages but is now a single property. The building features an undulating slate roof with overhanging eaves and rubble chimney stacks, which have red brick caps, located at the eastern end and near the entrance.
The southern side, originally the front, has tall gabled dormers with 4-pane casement windows, and below these are 6-pane casements with timber lintels. The eastern gable end includes a projecting chimney breast and a window above a modern door. The western end has a small pane casement window. The northern side, now facing the front, features an off-centre modern dormer above small pane windows, a boarded door located below the chimney stack, and a modern small-pane window to the far right.
The layout follows a lobby entry plan with service rooms to the west. Inside, there are deeply chamfered and stopped cross beams, a similar fireplace lintel, and stop-chamfered joists. The original roof structure remains, although modern stairs have been added.
