Description
The former stable complex at Belmont is a Grade II listed building consisting of a composite stable range with three main sections. The structure is built from rubble and features slate roofs, with some areas covered in corrugated iron.
On the left, there is an L-shaped, storied section that includes a segmental-arched entrance with rough-dressed voussoirs and a projecting keystone. This entrance is flanked by six-pane steel-framed windows, which have cambered heads. Above the entrance, there is a boarded loading bay.
To the right, a gabled connecting wing has outer boarded entrances and another loading bay above, which includes a hoist beam. Further to the right, there is an adjoining single-storey block that features two additional entrances with dressed slate-stone voussoirs and cambered heads. This block has modern stable doors and a plain-glazed window to the right.
Next to this, there is a nearly contemporary two-bay addition that has a plain window and a stable door to the right, with a flat slate lintel. The upper gable end of this section has been rebuilt, and its roof is made of corrugated iron.
