Description
This is an early 19th-century rubble barn located to the southwest of Maenan Hall, featuring a roof made of small slates. The entrance gable has deep verges and is topped with a stone ball finial, which was awaiting re-positioning at the time of inspection in July 1996. The gable includes large boarded double doors and a tripartite segmental light above, which has wooden divisions and latticing. The entrance is framed by a round-headed arch made of sandstone ashlar voussoirs with a projecting central key. Both long sides of the barn have large full-height openings that reach the eaves, supported by re-used oak lintels. There is also a plain upper loading bay on the north side that is unglazed.
Inside, the barn features plain 19th-century trusses in a six-bay layout. There is a plain loading bay located in the internal rubble dividing wall between the third and fourth bays.
