Description
The brick carthouse at Bryn Eisteddfod is a late 18th century structure with a 19th century rubble addition to the east. The original brick building is depicted on an estate map from 1792, but it does not appear on a similar map from 1776. It is a simple one-and-a-half storey rectangular block made of random bond bricks and topped with a slate roof, with much of the external render still visible. The front features a central cart entrance with boarded double doors and a recessed, boarded loading bay above. There is a small oculus at the rear gable apex. Adjoining this structure is a second-quarter or mid-19th century two-bay cart extension made of rubble and slate, which has two openings separated by a rubble pier, along with a rubble lean-to on the right.
