Description

The Access Bridge to Bryn Eisteddfod is an elegant single-span bridge built in 1841 for the Venerable Hugh Chambres Jones, Archdeacon of Essex. It is constructed of snecked, dressed stone and features a wide depressed arch. The brick soffit and brick-on-edge voussoirs are arranged in four oversailing courses, creating a strong decorative effect. There is a plain string course at the springing and splayed approaches. The parapet rises gently to the center and has ashlar coping.
