Description
The Wynn Rooms at Bodysgallen Hall consist of a former stable block, likely dating from the 18th century. The building is constructed of rubble stone with a renewed slate roof.
The north-east facing elevation, overlooking the car park, features stone external steps leading to a modern, timber-framed, gabled porch on a wooden post. The porch has a six-light, wood-mullioned, leaded window. Below the steps is a recessed area, likely originally a dog kennel. To the right of the porch is a steel-framed casement window, inserted into an earlier opening. Above the porch are two small windows, and further to the right is a former loft doorway, now with an inserted window. The left-hand (south-east) gable end has a higher ground level and incorporates an inserted glazed door at first-floor level. At the rear, an outshut extends from the right-hand side, with a boarded door and vent in its left-end wall. The main range of the building has brick, round-headed openings on the lower storey, containing double-glazed doors and a 12-pane horned sash window, each with a small-pane overlight. A smaller 12-pane sash window is located on the first floor. The right-hand (north-west) gable end has a pitching eye with leaded glazing.
A lower, hipped, single-storey link connects the main block to a two-storey former tack room and groom's accommodation. The north-east front of the tack room has small steps leading to a vented, boarded door, with a stone mounting block to its left. A diamond-leaded two-light window is located on the upper left side. The left-hand gable end of the tack room, facing the main range, includes a two-light, diamond-leaded window and a small attic window. The right-hand gable end projects outward, with a corbelled stack on its left side. A three-light window and a small attic window are also present on the left side. To the rear, the ground level rises, and a glazed door opens onto a first-floor terrace.
The interior has been altered; however, original roof trusses have been retained in the main range, revealing a four-bay roof structure with collar-beam trusses and raking struts. A joist-beam ceiling was present in the lower storey.
