Description
Capel Cae Craig is a simple domestic scale vernacular chapel, rectangular in shape, with a later added porch. It is constructed from local stone rubble, featuring distinctive slate hanging on the south and west elevations, while the north and east elevations and the porch are covered in roughcast render. The roof is made of Welsh slate, gabled, with a clayware ridge and slate verges.
The west elevation includes a pair of 9/9 sash windows, which predominantly have handmade glass panes. The symmetrical east elevation features a central gabled porch with a slate roof, moulded and scalloped bargeboards, and a carved apex finial. There is a 4-pane window in the gable and a boarded door on the south side. The porch is flanked by two 9/9 sash windows. To the south of the porch, there is a small forecourt enclosed by a low rendered wall with oversailing coping and a wrought iron gate adorned with fleur de lis spearheads.
Inside, the chapel has a plain plastered interior, with a pine boarded dado, pews, and a pulpit.
