Description
Nos 151 and 153 Conway Road, Colwyn Bay, are a pair of houses built in an Arts and Crafts style, likely dating to the early 20th century. The houses are faced in white roughcast render, with red plain tiled roofs. They are symmetrical in design, with prominent paired gables at the centre. The roof slopes steeply over the ground floor on each side, with an angled chimney stack in the angle where the roofs meet. The main entrance is located within a recessed bay. Each house has a pair of doors, each with a half-moon shaped window. Above the doors is a small two-light casement window. Within the main gable of each house is a wide canted bay window, alongside a smaller inglenook window, with a flat-headed five-light casement window above. A small dormer window is set into the side of the gables, and a string course runs above the first-floor windows. There are vents in each roof apex, and the gable roofs overhang on brackets. All windows are small-paned casements. Additional chimney stacks are located at the rear of the main range, close to a shallow service wing. Originally, the houses were likely divided internally with partitions to create a drawing room, dining room, kitchen and scullery.
