Description
Maes-y-haf is the left-hand cottage of a pair, constructed from roughly coursed rubble with larger rubble quoins and topped with a slate roof. It has one storey and an attic, with each cottage featuring a single bay that includes a front and back room. Access is provided through a side timber door with a glazed panel. The windows have cast iron lozenge pattern glazing, with a three-light window in the main front living room, a two-light window above in the gable, and a similar window in the upper floor of the end gable. On the ground floor of the gable, there is a mullioned and transomed window with iron Gothic pattern glazing featuring small cusps. All windows are fitted with sawn slate lintels. A large yellow-brick stack with six shafts is located on the party wall, and there is a contemporary outshut at the rear.
