Description

Pont Hafoty-Gwyn is a single-span rubble road bridge that was mentioned by Lhwyd in 1699 as 'y Bont newydh'. The current structure replaced an earlier bridge that was swept away in 1799, so it likely dates from shortly after that event. The bridge features a segmental arch with dressed voussoirs that are slightly inset below a hood made of thin stones. The parapets are boulder-coped and splay out slightly at the approaches, and the roadway is cambered.
