Description

The Quarry Incline at Cwm Penmachno is a water balanced incline featuring two tracks, designed into a series of quarry terraces. Constructed from slate waste rubble, the incline has two parallel tracks that are set at slightly different angles. The tracks are surfaced with flat slabs. At the top of the incline, the trackway is positioned at a lower level between a platform made of slate rubble masonry. At the bottom of the incline, there is a flat track with a slab surface.
