Description

5 Rhos Goch is part of a row of six single-storey houses located in Cwm Penmachno, Bro Machno. The houses are constructed from local stone rubble and feature slate roofs with low rectangular stone chimneys. The ground slopes down to the east, making the three houses on that side sit at a lower level. Each house has a square-headed doorway flanked by a window on either side. The doors and windows are set under deep stone sills and have hoodmoulds above. Originally, the glazing consisted of fixed or sash small-pane windows, though most have been replaced. The top house in the row has been extended, featuring a small square window and a smaller square chimney. The houses also have various outshots at the rear, typically with monopitch slate roofs and differing window styles.
