Description

1 Rhos Goch is a row of six single-storey houses located in Cwm Penmachno, Bro Machno. The houses are set on a sloping site, with three houses situated at a lower level to the east. The buildings are constructed of local stone rubble with slate roofs and low, rectangular stone chimneys. A stone water table is present on the east gable of the upper group of houses. Each house features a square-headed doorway flanked by a window on either side, with deep stone sills and hoodmoulds above the openings. The original windows were either fixed or small-pane sash windows, though most have been replaced. The uppermost house in the row has been extended forward, incorporating a small square window and a smaller square chimney. Rear extensions, consisting of outshots with monopitch slate roofs and varied window placement, have been added to each house.
