Description

3 Rhos Goch is a row of six single-storey houses located in Cwm Penmachno, Bro Machno. The houses are set on a sloping ground, with the three easternmost houses situated at a lower level. They are constructed from local stone rubble, with slate roofs and low, rectangular stone chimneys. A stone water table is visible on the eastern gable of the upper group of houses. Each house features a square-headed doorway flanked by a window on either side. The doors and windows are set beneath deep stone sills with hoodmoulds above. Originally, the windows were either fixed or small-pane sash windows, though most have been replaced. The uppermost house has been extended forward, incorporating a small square window and a smaller square chimney. Rear extensions, constructed as outshots with monopitch slate roofs and varied window arrangements, have been added to each house.
