Description

This is a single-storey lodge with a basement, built of large dressed stone blocks. It has a square plan and a pyramidal slate roof with oversailing eaves. A prominent feature is a central stack of four clustered chimneys arranged in an offset pattern. The front (northwest) and rear (southeast) sides each have two original sash windows. These windows retain their original 12 panes, except for the front right-hand window, which has 16 panes. The entrance is on the southwest side and features a recessed, part-glazed door dating from the later 19th century, approached by three stone steps. A modern, iron-bracketed wooden canopy shelters the entrance. A modern basement window with two panes is located to the right of the rear elevation. A modern, wooden-boarded lean-to with a slate roof extends from the northeast side.
