Description
Tyn-y-Coed consists of a symmetrical single-storey terrace of two cottages, each with two windows. They are built from rough-dressed slate-stone blocks and feature sandstone dressings. The cottages have a continuous slate roof with deep verges and eaves, both adorned with characteristic shaped corbelling at the corners. The bargeboards are simple, with chevron decoration on the south gable end. There are end chimneys and a central shared stack, all topped with plain cornices. Each cottage has a central entrance with slightly-recessed boarded and studded doors, which are sheltered by modern part-glazed porches. Flanking the entrances are 3-light mullioned windows with simply-moulded sandstone reveals and simple returned labels. Each light of the windows has sash windows with leaded upper panes. The interiors were not inspected during the survey in February 1996.
