Description
The farm building at Troed-y-rhiw is constructed from local stone rubble and features a corrugated iron roof. It consists of four bays, with a stone-built extension on the second bay on the southwest side. A large corrugated iron door provides access to the lower end bay, and the upper gable end is situated right next to the road.
Inside, the building has four bays, with the three lower bays separated by raised cruck trusses that rise from the stone walls at about 1.5 meters above the floor. The northern end bay is separated from the rest of the interior by a tie beam and collar truss, with the apex of the principals halved and notched to support a later ridge piece. The southern end cruck truss features a stub tie and two tiers of purlins, with the upper tier seemingly having had a wind brace on each side.
