Description

1 and 2 Dolwaen are a mirrored pair of late 19th century estate cottages, designed in the simple gothic style typical of the Tan-y-bwlch estate during this period. They are constructed from mortared rubble masonry, featuring large stones as quoins and lintels. The cottages have a slate roof with eaves that project on brackets and an axial stack. The design is symmetrical, with paired advanced gables at the center, each gable containing a 2-light casement window on both floors. The doorways are located in short flanking bays, and there are additional similar windows in the gable ends. All openings are adorned with slate drop-ended hood moulds.
