Description

This is a mid-Victorian manse with an adjoining school room, situated at Tal-y-Bont Chapel. The manse is constructed of rough-dressed, squared slatestone blocks, while the roof is slate with a tiled ridge. The manse section has brick end chimneys with simple cornicing and ceramic pots. The two-storey manse has a symmetrical three-window front elevation. A glazed door has been added to a central entrance, with a narrow rectangular overlight above. The original windows are plain two-pane sashes with marginal glazing and projecting slate sills; these are found on both floors. A short wall adjoins the manse to the left, standing approximately 3 metres high, with a four-panelled door located centrally.

The school room adjoins the manse to the right, set back slightly but sharing a continuous roofline. An entrance to the school room is found on the left side, featuring a six-panel door and rectangular overlight. To the right of this entrance are two large sash windows with marginal glazing and sills matching those of the manse. The interior of the buildings was not inspected during the survey.
