Description
Ybythyn is a row of cottages located on the south side of Heol Tan-y-bryn in Abergynolwyn. These cottages, numbered from the eastern end, are constructed from irregular coursed slate rubble and feature slate roofs with deep eaves and verges. Each cottage has a single bay, double depth plan, and includes a lateral passage from the entrance. The original entrance features a four-panelled door with a rounded moulded transom above the overlight. The upper panels have raised mouldings, while the lower panels are flush bead. Each cottage has twelve-paned sash windows, one on each floor, which do not have horns, with the upper floor windows being shorter. While the cottages remain in original condition, the entrance door has been replaced with one that lacks the original mouldings.
