Description

Penralltgoch is an L-shaped school building constructed in 1829, originally serving as a village school and later becoming the residence of the renowned mathematician and philosopher Lord Bertrand Russell. The building is made of rubble and is topped with a slate roof. The main block runs parallel to the road and features a date plaque, while the later cross-wing is positioned at right angles to the road and consists of a single storey above a raised basement. The windows are modern 3-light designs. It is listed for its historic significance as an early 19th-century village school and its association with Bertrand Russell.
