Description
The Anchorage, also known as Ynys Tudur, is a two-storey, three-bay suburban villa built in an eclectic classical style. It dates to roughly the 18th century. The house has a roughly square plan and is constructed of scribed roughcast walls, topped by a hipped slate roof with cusped wooden eaves. Two chimney stacks, panelled except for the one on the right, are located at each end of the building. A central gabled porch features a round-headed sash window with four panes, horned, set within a keyed and moulded architrave. A round-headed, panelled door is located on the right side of the porch. The outer bays are distinguished by pairs of round-headed sash windows with four panes, horned, set within ornate architraves featuring a cornice supported on consoles and with anchors carved in relief beneath segmental heads. The upper storey contains four-pane sash windows on the right and left sides, set within eared architraves with keystones and a moulded sill band. A tall stairwell window is centrally located and has a similar architrave with a moulded keystone, incorporating coloured glass. A garage is attached to the left side of the house. A sash window is visible on the lower left of the right side wall.
