Description

Awelon is a two-storey, double-fronted house dating from the late 19th century. The exterior walls are pebble-dashed, with a renewed slate roof featuring wide boarded eaves, hipped to the right side. It is built as a single range alongside number 4, with pebble-dashed stacks to the left and on the front slope of the right-hand (Dublin Street) elevation. A central, gabled porch has been added, constructed of coursed stone with an impost band below a freestone round head, incorporating a replacement glazed door and plain overlight. Late 19th-century, two-storey canted bay windows have replacement glazing. The right-hand corner of the building is splayed. The two-window elevation facing Dublin Street has replacement glazing. A lean-to conservatory has been added to the rear gable. A forecourt, added along with the bay windows, features a slate plinth to iron railings with spear finials. The building has group value. Not inspected.
