Description
The Golden Fleece is a two-storey, double-fronted public house built from large, roughly coursed and squared blocks of quarried stone. It features large slate-stone lintels, a slate roof with projecting eaves, small skylights, and stone stacks at the ends. The openings have raised cement surrounds, and the central entrance includes a fielded-panel door. The windows have been replaced in their original openings. At the back, there is an added two-storey rear wing.
Inside, the building retains its original two-unit plan, with chamfered joists. The fireplaces have been infilled. Behind the left-hand room, there is a vaulted beer cellar that was used to serve beer through a hatch.
