Description
Chick King, including 80 Ambrose Street, is a late Georgian, two-storey building featuring three-window rubble elevations that are symmetrical on the main front. It has a slate roof and brick chimney stacks, with 12-pane sash windows, some of which are horned. The main elevation has modern shop front canopies and a central six-panel door with a voussoir lintel beneath a slate plaque. This plaque commemorates John Richards, a composer who lived in this house from 1834 to 1901, and it was unveiled on August 5, 1943. There is also a six-panel door on Ambrose Street, which has a diamond panelled fanlight.
