Description
24 Llwybr Main is part of a pair of quarryman's cottages located in Llandygai. These cottages are single-storey buildings with a two-room layout and a loft, oriented from north-west to south-east. They are constructed from roughly coursed and dressed rubblestone blocks, which are rendered and painted on the gable ends, topped with a slate roof. Each cottage features two-light windows with slate sills on either side of a slightly offset entrance. They have integral end stacks and a shared ridge stack located centrally between the two cottages. There are also windows on the gable ends that light the lofts, as well as catslide lean-tos at the rear.
The front of the cottages has late 20th-century plastic windows flanking a 20th-century lean-to porch made of roughcast, which has half-glazed inner and outer doors. One of the integral end stacks has been removed. There is a small outbuilding attached to the rear, which is now part of the domestic accommodation. The front also features two-light windows next to a boarded door under a gabled slate porch, with a 19th-century rooflight to the left. A large 20th-century extension has been added to the rear. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
