Description

The Ice House at Rhiwlas is a rectangular structure built into a slope, constructed from local slatestone rubble. It features a shallow pointed stone vault. The entrance, located at the downhill end, is deeply recessed by 2 meters and has a rough slatestone lintel with a boarded door. At the top of the opposite end, there is an irregular ocular opening. The vaulted roof is cemented and has become heavily overgrown.

Inside, the space has a stepped-down design with unrendered walls and a beaten earth floor, also featuring a pointed barrel vault.
