Description

The drawbridge on the south side of Victoria Dock is a Grade II listed structure, primarily made of rolled steel sections. It consists of two cantilevered sections supported by triple axles, designed to be manually pulled back along short lengths of rail. Each section's deck is covered with wooden boards on a steel frame, featuring X-shaped panels beneath a handrail and bellied outer struts. Simple arches are located at the center and ends of the bridge. At both ends, there are cast iron boxes intended for ropes or lifebelts, which include name plates. The ramps at either end have been replaced.
