24 Market Street

24 Market Street is part of a terrace of five tall and narrow three-storey, two-bay houses. The front of the houses features scribed roughcast, except for No 18, which is pebble-dashed. They have graded slate roofs, although No 22 has had its roof replaced, and each house has a roughcast stack on the right side. The doorways are located on the right side of each house, with blind windows above them. Nos 16 and 20 have retained panelled doors with three-pane overlights, while No 24 has a fielded-panel door. The other houses have replaced doors and overlights. No 16 features original 16-pane hornless sash windows, which are shorter on the upper storey. No 20 has similar horned sashes, and No 24 has 20-pane sashes in the lower two storeys and 16-pane sashes in the upper storey. Nos 18 and 22 have replaced windows.

The rear elevation is made of rubble stone and includes single-storey projections, with No 16 having a two-storey projection. No 24 has a slightly deeper plan, causing it to project in front of the other houses. The original openings have slate lintels, but the windows have been replaced. This terrace belongs to a group of buildings at 16-24 Market Street.
