Description
The Victoria Hotel is a two-storey building constructed from rubble stone and painted stucco, topped with a slate roof and featuring three rendered stacks—one at each end and one along the ridge. The hotel has a five-window range, with the central bay projecting slightly. The two outer wings match in detail but have different window spacing. The first floor is stuccoed, while the ground floor likely was originally as well.
On the first floor, there are five hornless 12-pane sash windows set in moulded stucco surrounds. The words "VICTORIA" and "HOTEL" are prominently displayed in large Victorian capitals on either side of the central bay. A raised band over the ground floor is broken forward at the central bay, which does not have a centre break. The central entrance features a six-panel door with an overlight, framed by a timber surround with pilasters and an overhanging corniced flat hood. There are 12-pane sash windows on either side of the door, each with lintels made from a single slab of stone.
The outer bays have broad cambered arches, likely intended as coach entries. The right arch, constructed with stone voussoirs, leads to a through-way at the rear of the building. The left arch has 20th-century cladding over it and serves as a porch to the modern Neuadd Ogwen attached behind.
