Description
2 Ogwen Terrace is a late 18th century, three-storey building of three bays. It is constructed of coursed squared slate in long blocks, with sandstone dressings. The roof is slate-covered, featuring a large, corniced slate stack to the left, and a smaller, roughcast stack to the right, both stacks being shared with adjacent properties. The upper floor has two hornless nine-pane sash windows, each with a sandstone slab lintel and slate sill. The first floor features a Palladian arrangement with a central arched window, framed by a sandstone arch and keystone, and narrower windows either side, each with a long sandstone slab lintel connecting to the central arch. The side windows have two-pane glazing, while the central window has two-pane casements, a central mullion, and a two-pane fanlight above. A slate sill band runs along the front. The ground floor has been significantly altered and now features a rendered shopfront with a door on either side of the shop window. An older photograph indicates a 19th-century shopfront existed, which included ornate lion-mask brackets similar to those found on the adjacent building at No. 1.
