Description

Ty'n Llwyn is a barn and cowhouse range located at the west of the yard. The higher barn is situated at the southwest corner, with the cow-sheds adjoining it to the north in two distinct sections. The structure is built from rough quarry-dressed rubble with coarse mortared joints and features large slate roofs. All openings have slate lintels, and the dark red paint may be an estate color.

The barn has a doorway on the right with a split boarded door and blocked vents. There is a wider doorway at the rear, which also has blocked vents. Attached to the barn is a single-bay shed with a boarded door on the right and a window featuring a glazed upper panel over a boarded lower section. Further along is a longer shed that has a window with a glazed upper panel over a slatted lower section on the right, a wide doorway with a sliding door in the center, and a partially blocked window next to it. To the right is a lower range that is slightly stepped back, consisting of a series of split boarded doors and small windows with glazed upper panels and slatted lower sections. The rear of the building has a series of vents and doorways, including two from the northern shed and one from the central shed.

Inside the barn, there are remains of a slate flagged floor and a bolted tie-beam truss. Small holes in the northern end wall may have been related to machinery shafting, and there is a blocked loft doorway in the southern end wall. The cowhouse range features bolted king post trusses, while the lower range at the northern end has a collar truss roof with wrought iron braces and a king post. There are also remains of setts on the floor.
