Long Range tp NE side of Farmyard at Cae Gwynion Uhaf Farm

This single-storey building at Cae Gwynion Uhaf Farm features stables on the left, a roof store and processing area in the middle, and a cartshed on the right with a hay loft above. It is constructed from rubble and has a slate roof. The cartshed includes a long slate stone lintel with an inscription, flanked by alternating doorways and windows. There are three full-height pointed arch doorways with brick voussoirs and four hopped windows with sliding ventilation slats. Each doorway has a hopper tympanum and vertically boarded stable doors, with the right-hand doorway mostly blocked with stone. A mounting block is located beside the middle doorway, and a well is situated next to the right-hand one. Steps lead up to the hay loft against the right gable end. A rubble wall at the left end extends to a gate into the field at the northwest corner.

Inside, the building features king post roof trusses typical of the later 19th century, with a four-bay central section. At the right end, there is a grain shoot, below which are remnants of machinery that included an engine, pump, chaff cutter, and mangle slicer. Originally, drive shafts ran from this area to the house to operate a churn. A hand pump by Bamford of Uttoxeter is still present, though it is no longer in use since an electric pump was installed. A low wall on the left encloses a storage area, and in the lower cross passage at the left end, there was previously a staircase leading to the loft over the stables. This building has group value with the other farmyard ranges, the horse engine house, and the farmhouse.
