Description
35 High Street is a symmetrical three-storey building with a six-window front, finished in scribed render and featuring significant classical detailing. The roof is slate, and there are red brick chimney stacks. The building has rusticated quoins, a deep dentil cornice, cill bands, and a painted brick plinth. Most of the windows are four-pane sash windows.
On the second floor, there is a 1+2+1 window arrangement with architraves, bracket cills, and keystones. The first floor has twinned windows flanked by Corinthian pilasters, topped with heavily dentilled pediments, while the ground floor features twinned windows with deep ornamented keystones. The central entrances are twinned semicircular arches, also with keystones and Corinthian pilasters, leading to stepped recesses and four-panel half-glazed doors. The left door has a coloured glass fanlight.
Inside, the outer halls are tiled, and the staircase has simple ornamentation with Gothic panelled newels.
