Description

The Abbey National building is a 19th-century structure featuring a steep slate roof, which may have originally been thatched, along with boarded eaves, skylights, and Ruabon brick chimney stacks. The front of No 42 has four sash windows that do not have glazing bars, while No 44 has a two-window front with four-pane sashes. No 42 also displays Victorian fascia end brackets and has two shop windows on either side of the entry, with a modern door to the right set in a brick surround. No 44 has a modern shop front and a cross range at the rear. Inside No 44, there is one lightly chamfered beam on the first floor.
