Description
The Crown Hotel is a three-storey building dating from the 19th century, featuring a stucco front with a painted plinth and a slate roof. It has red brick chimney stacks and bracket eaves. The front has a one plus five window arrangement, with horned four-pane sash windows on the first and second floors. The left-hand openings have been blocked, with one now displaying a public house sign. Splayed bay windows with cornices and modern small pane glazing are located on either side of the porches in the third and fifth bays, supported by cast iron columns. The main entrance on the left has double half-glazed doors and a lettered fanlight, while the right-hand porch features a round arched entrance with a half-glazed door. At the extreme left end, there is another round arched opening with recessed double panelled doors, which previously led to a shop that was separate from the inn.
The rear of the building is finished in pebbledash and has small pane sash windows. Inside, there are six-panel doors and a plain staircase with a swept-up handrail.
