Description
Penrhos is a smallholding featuring a house located at the uphill end of a slightly sloping site, along with a farm building aligned with it. The structures are constructed of rubble, partially whitewashed, and topped with a grouted slate roof that includes one small rooflight. The house has gable stacks, with the stack for the lower room being an addition. It is a single-storey building with two bays and a lean-to at the upper end, which extends beyond the house to the south. Attached to the eastern end is a three-bay farm building. The house has new doors and windows that have been set in enlarged openings, replacing the original small four-pane windows. There is also a lean-to at the rear, which is partly covered with slate and partly with corrugated iron.
In front of the farm building, there is a detached pigsty with an altered walled run. The farm building itself is divided by stone walls into three bays. It includes a single-bay workshop with a cross passage at the house end, a second bay cowhouse equipped with tie posts for four animals along the back wall, and two small calf pens. The end bay, which was likely originally a stable, is now used for housing sheep.
