Description
5 Wellington Terrace is a 19th-century building constructed of random rubble on a boulder plinth, topped with a renewed slate roof featuring axial and end wall stacks. Each dwelling has an entrance towards the center, consisting of a plank door beneath a rough stone lintel, with small 4-pane sash windows on either side, also with rough stone lintels. These windows align with small gabled dormers in the roof, which are likely later additions. The rear elevation of No 5 displays a rough boulder wall with a massive stone plinth and inserted openings. No 6 has a mainly roughcast rendered rear and features two inserted gabled dormers in the roof, equipped with metal casement windows.
Originally, the two dwellings were similarly planned with end wall chimneys and staircases winding up against the main stack. Currently, each has a single room on the ground floor, but until recently, there were two smaller rooms opposite the fireplace, which may reflect the original layout, including a small secondary heated room.
