Description
The barn and stable at Penbryn Mawr is a 19th-century structure built of largely uncoursed rubblestone and topped with a slate roof featuring coped verges. The building has a long rectangular plan and includes a double threshing barn that extends to the left, where there is a lofted stable. There is a further lower extension to the left, which is set back and has a corrugated iron roof, likely used as a cowhouse.
The original building features wide full-height barn doorways on the left and in the center, with a lower doorway on the right. A stable door is located between the left and center doorways. To the right of the center doorway, there are two ventilation slits and a small eaves window immediately to the right of the stable door. The left extension has a single doorway with a small eaves window directly above it, along with another window to the left. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
