Description
Gwynfryn Lodge is a building constructed from snecked square rockfaced rubble with ashlar dressings, topped with a slate roof that features red clayware roll ridge tiles. It is a single storey with an attic and consists of a long north-south block, which has a short cross wing that projects to the east as a canted bay with a pyramidal roof, and a rear wing for services. At the south end of the east front, there is a boarded door set within a timber-framed porch, which is sheltered by an extension of the roof. The porch has perforated spandrels. To the north of the canted front wing, there is a large dormer. The south gable end features a square bay window with a stone parapet and decorative bargeboards. The building has a central stack with a string and outsetting head. The roof of the rear wing is lower than that of the north-south range, sloping down to the south, and it includes a 20th-century flat-roofed extension made of similar stone.
