Description
This listing describes a pair of wash houses located at Nos. 1 and 2 Penrallt. They are small, single-storey rectangular buildings constructed from irregularly coursed rubblestone, featuring brownish red brick dressings. The roofs are made of corrugated iron, with sheeting on the gable ends, and there is a central brick ridge stack topped with stepped capping and chimney pots.
The front of the buildings has boarded doors, with the right door partly infilled and a window inserted. This is flanked by single-light windows that have two horizontal bars and slate cills. There is also a boarded door on the left gable end.
Inside the left part, there is an incised slate fire surround, although the copper has been removed. The right part was not inspected during the survey.
