Old Ynysfor Farmhouse

Old Ynysfor Farmhouse is a two-storey end-chimney house dating from the 19th century, featuring a flush, continuously-roofed cart-house addition on the left (southeast) side and lower extensions at the rear, creating a T-plan layout. The building is constructed of rubble on part boulder foundations, with the former render having been removed. It has slate roofs, with later crow-stepped gable parapets on the southeast and rear gables, and plain chimneys, one of which on the right side (former parlour) is rendered.

The main section has a nearly symmetrical, three-bay front with a central entrance. The entrance features an early 19th-century six-panelled door with raised and fielded panels, the lower two being boarded, and includes a rectangular overlight with intersecting lozenge glazing. The ground and first floors are fitted with early 19th-century 16-pane unhorned sash windows. The adjoining cart-house addition has two wide cart entrances; the left entrance is open with a timber lintel, while the right has boarded double doors and a slate lintel. There are also two small late 19th-century four-pane sashes on the upper floor and a loading bay with a modern window on the southeast gable.

At the rear, there is a lower storeyed gabled addition with a later adjoining outshut to the right, also featuring crow-stepped gables. Inside, there is a simple late 19th-century staircase leading to a central stair hall, with a boarded door to the former hall on the left. The first floor has two two-panel doors and retains an original four-bay pegged collar and tie-beam truss roof.
